The Association of Former Members of Parliament of New Zealand

Our Association is made up of former Members of Parliament from a variety of political backgrounds. We come together, leaving our political colours at the door, to share experiences and friendship, and to undertake initiatives that promote democracy in New Zealand and, on occasion, overseas.

The Association organises and takes part in a number of activities including annual dinners, essay competitions for secondary school students, school visits as part of the civics education program and memorial services.
